JOB DESCRIPTION:

To serve as district level expert in literacy and support the district and campus bilingual programming. This individual will serve as a literacy specialist working with the district level academics team to oversee the development, implementation and evaluations of campus literacy programming at the elementary level with a special emphasis on sheltered instruction and support for English Language Learners. This individual will support the development, use and analysis of data tools to inform district and campus level initiatives. He or she will also provide professional development and coaching as needed, working closely campus coaches. As language development and literacy go hand in hand, this individual will additionally inform and oversee bilingual coordinators at the campus level.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-- Bachelor's Degree (required) 
-- A minimum of 4-6 years teaching experience
-- Master’s Degree preferred in Education 
-- Minimum of five years teaching experience in a public school setting. Experience in developing and/or in delivering ESL teacher training is preferred.
